On 11th February 1963 the band recorded debut album Please Please Me, ten of the fourteen tracks were laid down in less than ten hours. Of the album's fourteen songs, eight were written by Lennon–McCartney. This album produced an authentic representation of the band's Cavern Club-era sound. THis was to be the beginning of many more Beatles albums to come.
This site presents the album covers of the Beatles. The Beatles had a profound impact on the use of album art that has continued to this day. In viewing the album covers of the Beatles an evolution takes place in the use of album
art. The early album covers were basically just photographs of the band. Revolver shows a change towards a more
artistic bend from the earlier album covers. However,Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, marks a real turning point where the album cover takes on a new importance in reflecting the creative theme of the artists
and in supporting the musical content of the album. The White Album then goes completely in the other direction, purposely deemphasizing the album cover art to focus the attention only on the music. The Magically Mystery Tour, The Yellow Submarine, and Abbey Road all return to the use thematic album covers. Enjoy this “Blast from the Past” as you view this collection of Beatles Album Covers.
